Phnix Fire, Inc. Acquires HotShot FPS to Launch Next-Generation Residential Wildfire Defense Venture

CAMARILLO, CA - May 5, 2025 - Phnix Fire, Inc., a newly formed venture in residential wildfire defense and smart suppression technology, today announced the acquisition of the assets and trademarks of HotShot FPS, a pioneering company in residential wildfire protection. The acquisition strengthens Phnix Fire’s position as a premier provider of intelligent fire suppression systems purpose-built for homes, estates, and communities located in wildfire-impacted areas.

Phnix Fire is an affiliate of GBL Systems Corporation, a renowned systems engineering and artificial intelligence company with a legacy of innovation in defense and autonomous technology. GBL Systems is a trusted contractor to the U.S. Department of Defense, with decades of experience in delivering advanced, mission-critical solutions.

As part of the acquisition, James Dziadulewicz and Sabre Buttner, the two owners of HotShots FPS, have joined Phnix Fire as founders and the company’s first employees. They will lead engineering and operations, respectively, bringing deep technical expertise and field-tested innovation to the Phnix platform. Their work in developing fully autonomous, off-grid wildfire suppression systems has already proven successful in protecting high-risk homes during some of California’s most intense wildfire events.

“The acquisition of HotShot allows us to accelerate our mission to protect homes, families, and communities from the growing threat of wildfires,” said Jim Buscemi, CEO of Phnix Fire. “By combining the proven groundwork laid by HotShots FPS with the cutting-edge systems engineering and AI expertise of GBL Systems, we are uniquely positioned to bring unmatched reliability and intelligence to residential fire defense.”

The new venture will focus on developing and deploying integrated wildfire suppression systems that leverage smart sensors, predictive analytics, autonomous activation, and off-grid power and water sources to detect and respond to wildfire threats in real time.

As part of the announcement, Jerry Meyer has been appointed Chief Operating Officer of Phnix Fire. Meyer will lead the company’s operations and go-to-market strategy, bringing deep experience in technology commercialization, startup leadership, and operational excellence.

Phnix Fire will begin system installations across Southern California this summer and is actively developing a certified installer network to meet growing demand in high-risk areas.
